UK team announced for Euro Cross
Charlotte Purdue - Albufeira bound
Not too many surprises in there this year. With Mo Farah not Albufeira bound the first six senior men virtually picked themselves, with trials runner-up James Wilkinson running the U23 race…
Defending European champ Hayley Yelling-Higham gets a berth after her solid, but unspectacular, run at Liverpool. However, after her win last year – and undoubted quality when it comes to championship races – the Windsor runner deserves her place. The only non-runner from Liverpool who gets a place is Steph Twell, and after her great summer and pedigree over the country that has to be seen as the right decision.
A tip for Euro success from MST comes in the form of Charlotte Purdue. The diminutive junior has had a stunning summer and autumn, and should spearhead the U20 UK challenge in Portugal, with the Aldershot athlete eying-up the individual gold we fancy.
