UK to get new trail running mag
A sample DPS from the new Trail Runner mag
After many ‘trail running supplements’ from various publications in the last year or so the owners of Trail magazine have taken the plunge and announced a brand new title fully dedicated to “Trail running, Fell Running, Mountain Marathons, Adventure Racing & Orienteering”
Simply called Trail Runner the magazine will cater for all of the UK’s off road runners who are inspired by trail running in particular.
Comms from the publisher Bauer Media state:
The Creators of Country Walking and Trail magazine have now produced a new magazine called Trail Runner – Britain’s only magazine for Off road runners!
- The magazine is set to hit shelves on the 18th May 2010, bagged with Trail magazine
- Trail Runner will be dedicated to Off road runners and will become Britain’s only magazine for Off-road runners!
- The magazine will be a quarterly magazine with the second issue out in September 2010.
- The first two issues will be bagged with Trail magazine which is the UK’S number one Hill walking magazine
- The issue will be 132 pages
Of course readers of the Fell Runner magazine (delivered to members of the Fell Runners Association) will argue the case that there are publications out there that cater for ‘off roaders’, however we at MST congratulate Bauer Media in putting forward a fully dedicated consumer magazine that will appear on the shelves of all major newsagents in the UK.

Interesting.
If you can read German, you should check out http://www.trail-magazin.de/ , nicely done by DENIS WISCHNIEWSKI, you must have heard of him.
What you are puting on seems to be the same for UK. Great move.
I have a question though, who shall be the contributors of this magazine and will there be any sporting brands involved ?
Thanks for sharing

Great. No doubt. Congratz to the UK for getting a magazine dedicated to trail-running. I will buy this quarterly.

I applaud Trail’s publishers for taking this bold step. But I wonder why Trail Runner numbers 1 and 2, have to be bagged with the hill walking magazine Trial.
How are European trail runners to come by a copy of the new magazine? Copies of Trail Runner 1 and 2 (without Trail) for potential overseas readers, there are many in Europe, might be an idea?

That’s cool! Trail running will grow more roots, get bigger and better.

As someone who lives in both the US and UK its great to hear that there will soon be a stand alone Trail running magazine. Trail running is now huge in the US being closely linked to the Ultra scene. No doubt that the UK is slowly following the same route. Im fortunate enough to beable to run the trails of North Carolina and Staffs/Shrops borders. Great website. Let me recommend US based Trail Running Soul l!!

Thanks for that Mike. I do indeed follow Trail Running Soul! Ed is doing a great job on that site…
