Trail runners bask in Ennerdale sun
Yesterday’s Ennerdale Trail Races were party to some glorious Autumn sunshine, providing one of the country’s most beautiful backdrops to any trail races this year. Racing was graced by top UK runners Carl Bell and Emma Clayton as runners pitted themselves over 50, 25 and 10k routes…
Bell was an out-of-sight winner of the 25km race, winning by almost 27 minutes. In the 10k race Emma Clayton was a stand-out winner of the women’s event, so much so she almost won the race overall, finishing second behind CFR’s Lee Amor.
The 50k ‘ultra’ was won convincingly by Steve Angus, over two minutes up on Joseph Peate. Stepehn Seddon was third, as 9 Bar’s Victoria Mousley won the women’s event.
In the 25km Bell was head and shoulders above the rest, as Richard Staton was second and Otto Carlisle third. Julie Carter from Keswick AC won the women’s race.
