Repeating her win of 2011 and setting a new course record, Ellie Greenwood took another big Stateside ultra win this weekend as she dominated the second half of the Chuckanut 50k race in Bellingham, USA

Describing the conditions iRunFar state:

Over 500 runners covered 30 miles of trails and dirt roads through a variety of conditions. The start saw chunky rain coming down in 35F temps. The first third of the race were run on mostly lower elevation, which meant a mix of drizzle and rain in just above freezing temps

The Canada-based British ultra runner broke her own course record from 2011 as she finished in 4.09.28. See here account of the race with Bryon Powell here.

Adam Campbell at Chuckanut 2012

Canada’s Adam Campbell took advantage of a few route misfortune for others to take a great win in the men’s event in a swift 3.48.55 – defeating a quality field which included TNF50 2011 winner Mike Wolfe and Dave Mackey. Adam’s account of events was also documented by Bryon here.

It’s hard to believe both of those pictures came from the same race!
Congratulations Ellie on a new course record and the victory! Congratulations Adam on your victory!
