A BBC 5 Live podcast has been posted up featuring ‘fell runner’ Ali Brownlee and ultra-trail legend Lizzie Hawker. The show was broadcast on Thursday and is now available for download…

The episode is very interesting from a sports psychology perspective too as presenter Eleanor Oldroyd, along with James Cracknell, look at how ‘super-humans’ such as Chrissie Wellington prepare for events mentally and how the likes of Alistair is dealing with his achilles injury.

Lizzie talks in-depth about her 24 hour world record run and her adventure in the Himalaya last autumn.

Ali starts at around 4mins 40 secs in, with Lizzie coming in at 33.30mins of the 70 minute special. Listen here...
