Seventh heaven for Dold at the Run-Up
With a move to an 8pm slot and a new start system (time trial as opposed to mass start) much of the 2012 Empire State Run-Up was all new. However, the status quo remained in the finishing positions of previous years, as world number one Thomas Dold reigned supreme once again…
New Zealand’s Melissa Moon once again won the women’s race, and it was great to see British Ironman Queen Chrissie Wellington taking part – she finished a very creditable third after deciding to run on the morning of the event!
This ISF report states:
There’s no stopping German Dold who reconfirms his supremacy as the world’s number one skyscraper racer, winning Wednesday’s late night race up the New York City landmark in 10’28”. New Zealander Melissa Moon, 2010 VWC champion and past winner here, summited in 12’39”.
