It’ll be ‘Cooler than July’ this October as fantastic weekend of ultra running events are being staged by Team Axarsport in the amazing Andalucian countryside of southern Spain…

As a partner event of the Al Andalus event in July, the Ultima Frontera events of 50km 80km and 160km (100 miles) will be run in what the organisers state will be pleasant temperatures, cool by night but still provide warmth by day.

The Ultima Frontera website reads:

This time, rather than a stage race in hot conditions, we have planned a weekend of ultra races ( the Ultima frontera 160 ) for those who enjoy single stage ultras. Races will include a 50km for those looking to make the step from marathon to ultra, 80km and 160km
(100miles) a distance which is very popular in the USA but not as common in European events.

So, why not take in some of the greatest trail running terrain in Europe and combine it with an Autumn ‘break’? Entries being taken here

Thanks for the plug. So far majority of entries from abroad are for the 160 but I think the 80 and the 50 will grow once July is over. The 160 is also a 4 point qualifier for UTMB and the 80km a 2 pointer. It is very likely that we may now include an Extreme duathlon, should know more next week.

Mud, Sweat and Tears was dreamt up some time ago. I had returned to the sport of running (competitively) after around a 15 year layoff due to injury.
