Championships announced
Runners at the 1984 Blisco Dash, a Brit champs race in 2013
The English and British Fell Running Championships have been announced for 2013, with some classic races for contenders to feast their eyes and legs on between March and September next year…
2012 men’s champ Joe Symonds could well be quite happy with the selections as the rugged terrain and steep climbs of the likes of Silent Valley and Peris Horsehoe should suit the Hunters Bog Trotter’s strengths. Still, we’re sure that Morgan will be just as keen and look to bounce back after his 2011 Championship win and runner-up position this year.
Of course there will be many others who will have something to say about it, and the two other shorter races at Yetholm and Blisco Dash will be stern tests of runners speed and technical ability.
Equally, Lauren Jeska will be the woman to beat once again, if she decides to target the British races.
In England there are some familiar races such as Edale and Wasdale, and the Blisco Dash doubles as a British and English counter. 2012 men’s champ Simon Bailey should like the look of the series, as should Jeska, who could be looking to ‘do the double’ once again – we will see.
