Heras leads European charge in San Francisco
Miguel Heras on his way to the 2012 TNF50 crown
After inclement weather forced a re-routed TNF50 in San Francisco earlier today, the ensuing mud and torrential rain probably played into the hands of Spain Miguel Heras and Swede Emelie Forsberg, as they both bagged the men’s and women’s titles, plus a cool $10,000 each!
After 50 long miles Heras was a massive 13-minute winner over Frenchman and Salomon team mate Francois d’Haene, with Cameron Clayton in third. In the women’s race Forsberg held her nerve and charged late to win by a couple of minutes from Stephanie Howe. Long-time leader Maud Gobert finished third.
