Weekend round-up...
Another busy weekend on the fells, hills and mountains has passed, with summer possibly giving us one last hurrah before those leaves start to turn brown. Still, very little can dampen the spirit of a fell runner, and there were lots of lovely races to keep them happy…
Just in case(!) you missed it, our Moel Wnion report is here.
Dark Peak’s Rhys Findlay-Robinson etched his name in the Lake District Mountain Trial record books as he took the win in the classic section, ahead of Tom Brunt and John Hunt. 2012 Snowdon Race winner Tessa Hill beat all of the men and the women to win the medium race, whilst Mark Graham won the short event. Some nice shots by Ian Charters are here.
Special mention here must go to that man Joss Naylor. The Cumbrian fell legend completed (we think) his 49th Trial, finishing in 35th place, and will no doubt be back for his 50th in 2013 – utterly amazing!

Over in Yorkshire it was the full and half Yorkshireman Off-Road Marathon, seeing wins for P&B’s Richard Pattinson and female winner Nikki Brockbank in the full race and CVFR’s Ben Mounsey and CLC Strider Liza Barry in the half.
Sunday also saw the classic 19 mile race the Stretton Skyline. Previous winners include Mark Kinch, Colin Donnelly and Ruth Pickvance for this event which dates back to 1982. We are just awaiting the winners of this year’s honours, and will post results asap, with all the usual smashing imagery by Al Tye here.
It was a good day for Wharfedale on Sunday as Ted Mason won the Burnsall Race, part of the BOFRA series, with team mate Kirtsy Hall winning the women’s race and some great images by David S Brett here.
And finally, up-and-coming fell talent Jack Ross easily won the Coombs Tor race over in the Goyt Valley, with Sandra Lewis winning the ladies race.
