Snowbird, Utah is the venue for round two of the Ultra SkyMarathon® Series and the much-anticipated Speedgoat 50k race. The field is deep with ultra talent, including Kilian Jornet and Tony Krupicka…

Karl Meltzer’s event has been growing in stature since 2007 and the attraction for some of the world’s best is not only the considerable prize-purse, but also the 11,600 feet of vert in the 50 kiliometres (though here Kilian thinks the race will be really fast). The men’s field also contains Max King, who, should he be on form, will be hard to beat. In addition we can expect Ricky Gates to be mixing it.

The Speedgoat profile

Anna ‘Frosty’ Frost takes to the line in the women’s race, but with her recent injury issues it isnt clear whether she will be competitive, or even able to fully run the event – but with her pedigree, anything is possible. Other contenders in the female section include Meghan Arbogast and Denise Bourassa.

Still, ALL you need to know about this event is over at iRunFar, where Bryon Powell pulls-out some amazing interviews (Anton, Kilian and Anna), previews and also the all-important ‘live coverage’ link – where he will be as ever providing a service few can match.

Make sure you keep it locked onto the iRunFar twitter feed too, as racing gets underway soon at 6:30 am MDT… (12:30 UK time)
