Full ISF release

Both individual and team titles are at stake for skyrunners from ISF European member countries participating: Andorra, Italy, France, Great Britain, Russia, Spain, and Switzerland as well as teams from the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Poland and Slovakia.

The biennial Championship is composed of two events, the final of which will be held in Spain on November 5 with the Puig Campana Vertical Kilometer®.

Medals and prizes will be awarded which include a free trip to participate in the Skyrunner® Super Cup in Malaysia on October 22 and 23rd where the champion of champions will be crowned. Winners of the Skyrunner® World Series also be invited.

The recent prolonged bad weather in the Alps is forecast clear for Sunday’s race. The fast, demanding 30 km course runs along an ancient smugglers’ route, starting in Lanzada, Val Malenco, Italy. The route ascends 1,850m to the Campagneda Pass at 2,627m, the highest point of the race, before descending to the charming town of Poschiavo in Switzerland where the award ceremony and celebrations will take place.

The men’s record stands at 2h46’24” and the women’s 3h33’19”.
