Although finishing second behind Italian Antonella Confortola, Anna Frost won the NZ mountain running title at Mt Campbell on Saturday. it was far more clean cut in the men’s race as mtn legend Jonathan Wyatt easily took the title…
Wyatt’s time of 1hr 8min 11sec was 31 seconds faster than his winning time two years ago on the same course, and gives him confidence heading into the European mountain running season.
“This was a good test,” said the Wellington native, whose parents live in nearby Motueka. “It’s good to know I can handle a long climb without too much stress.”

Thanks for your updates. They are much appreciated. It is in stiking contrast to New Zealand’s reporting of athletics. This national championship event was not reported in any of the major newspapers. Jonathon Wyatt, while well known in Europe and many times world champion, is virtually unknown in his own country. Your website is great, thanks.
