Kirwa wants to 'crush' opponents
Kirwa is a serious man for serious times!
Kenyan XC coach Julius Kirwa doesn’t want to just beat their closest rivals (we presume he means Ethiopia!) next week in Amman, he wants to crush them too!
The Edinburgh massacre at the hands of Ethiopia last year cannot happen again, in his eyes and speaking to Kenyna national newspaper the Daily Nation, he said:
We might have stumbled in Edinburgh, but certainly we didn’t fall. We are now regrouping and it is how we respond that is important. For the first time, we have the ability to wrestle all the four individual titles that we missed in Scotland
Tough talk from the man at the top and time will tell if his boot-camp style of team management will rally the troops, or cause a mutiny as the race for individual honours gets the better of his charges.
