  1. Cross country on the BEEB

Posted in Through the Lens by Matt Ward on Fri 11 Dec '09

It is a rare day indeed to get cross country on the box these days, especially terrestrial telly. Sunday sees a day of Euro XC live racing across BBC2 and BBC Red button. Crammy and Bren will be on hand to give their views and observations on all of the action from Santry Park, Dublin… Read more…

  2. For the World XC, hit the red button

Posted in At the Races by Matt Ward on Fri 27 Mar '09

With Formula One dominating the BBC this weekend, the World XC doesn’t get a look-in on standard terrestrial telly. Neither does it seem to get listed on Eurosport, which is a bit odd. Anyway, live coverage of the racing starts at 11.15 GMT on BBCinteractive. Read more…

  3. Steph Twell, 2012 and all that

Posted in Dishing the Dirt by Matt Ward on Tue 10 Feb '09

Steph gives great media and this interview reinforces the view that she has her head firmly screwed on. In this little BBC profile she talks about role models (her dad!), her great 2008, the London Olympics and comparisons to Paula. Read more…

With the great man absent the racing should be close

In what should be one of the best XC meets of the year in the UK, the Bupa Great Edinburgh International happens this Saturday. With Kenenisa Bekele still out the door should be wide open for 2007 World champ Zersenay Tadese to romp home… Read more…

Posted in Dishing the Dirt by Matt Ward on Mon 08 Dec '08

She'll be needing those gloves, and a hat!

Yes, if the reports on the BBC Sport website are to be believed then top UK marathoner Mara Yamauchi quite fancies switching to cross country skiing. The Japan-based Briton was top-UK finisher at this year’s Olympic marathon, and has a number of great big-city-marathon runs to her name. Read more…
