Mont Blanc course records slayed by Kilian and Stevie

Ian Corless’ coverage of the Mont Blanc marathon today was almost as good as the racing, as Salomon athletes Stevie Kremer and Kilian Jornet smashed the course records at this super-tough trail / mountain marathon event…

There were to be contrasts in the styles of victory however, as Jornet battled race-long with his great friend and mountain sparring partner Marco de Gasperi, whilst Kremer was a hugely dominant winner of the women’s event, beating Salomon starlet Emelie Forsberg by over 20 minutes by the finish.

Ian’s words and pictures are superb and though titled ‘summary’ this report is pretty comprehensive!
