Kilian at Zegama 2011

Out go such classics as Giir di Mont and Sierre Zinal, and in come some exciting new races in the form of the first 100-miler for the series, Ronda dels Cims. Next year’s Skyrunner World Series will be split into three distinct circuits, those of Sky, Ultra and Vertical

With Nine new entries, two brand new races, a US final and the much anticipated new format – that’s what’s in store for the 2013 Skyrunner® World Series which celebrates ten years with some of the best and most exciting races across the world.

Some of the most interesting additions come in the Ultra category with the Ice Trail Tarentaise in Val d’Isere, France and the UROC (Ultra Race of Champions) event in Vail, Colorado, next September. The new format could also benefit some of the guys and girls who just want to race sub-ultra, technical mountain races, as the Sky category doesn’t venture over 46km.
