Weekend racing...
Stewart Whitlie at the Two Breweries 2012
Those racing on Saturday this weekend were blessed with some great late summer / early autumn conditions, with light winds and sunshine. Those racing on Sunday, not so lucky, as high winds and rain hit many parts of the UK…
Lucky then that two of the best races went off on Saturday at the Two Breweries Hill Race and Scafell Pike.
Up in Scotland a rare defeat was handed to Lochaber man Finlay Wild, as Stewart Whitlie added the Two Breweries win to his victory the week before at Cutler Fell. The Carnethy man was a full minute ahead of Fife’s Mark Harris with Wild in third.
Jasmin Paris continued her dominance of domestic hill racing north of the Border with a commanding win in the ladies race, some 3 minutes up on team mate Charlotte Morgan. Helen Bonsor made it a Carnethy 1,2,3 in third.

In the Lakes, Borrowdale’s Martin Mikkelson-Barron scored a great win at the Scafell Pike race. His time of 1:03:53 was good enough for a two and a half minute win over Wharfedale’s Ted Mason (1:06:32), with the welcome return to the top placings in fell racing of P&B man John Heneghan (1:07:02) in third.
