6am Friday (Mountain Daylight Time) will be the time that this year’s Hardrock 100 – deemed one of the hardest 100s on the world circuit – kicks off. Transvulcania champ Dakota Jones returns to see if he can go one better than last year’s second place...

Luckily for us in Europe we wont need to set our alarm clocks as the UK and Europe is operating around 7/8 hours ahead of this. Fortunately we also have the very handy live ticker service via this feed from our Stateside buddies iRunFar so we will never be far from the action, night or day.

Bryon Powell also previews the event here, and tips Jo Grant to push Dakota close on this tough n’ rough 100 which has around 34,000ft of climbing to undertake.

Diana Finkel also returns to defend her title after her massive performance in 2011, which was good enough for 5th overall.
