Lauren Jeska

Lauren Jeska, Orlando Edwards and Adam Osbourne put in some great performances at a weather-hit third round od the 2011 WMRA Grand Prix in Slovenia. After some pretty big storms the route was shortened from 9.6 to around 6.5km…

No one was to get anywhere near four-time European MR champ Ahmet Arslan as he took the win by over 90 seconds from David Schneider, who also now has a good lead in the series. Edwards ran to a very strong 5th in a top international field, with Osbourne in 8th.

In the women’s race GP leader Emma Clayton was absent so it was up to Slovenian Lucija Krkoc to take the win and the overall lead in the series. Jeska had an excellent run in 3rd on the day and now moves up to 3rd in the overall standings.

Kamnik, Slovenia – The weather forecast for Sunday’s (24) 13th running of the Grintovec Mountain Running race was not a promising one: heavy rain with thundering and stormy winds above 1500m, and snow limit at about 2000m. Organising a mountain running race with the finish at 2500m above sea level, with no lodging facilities close to the finish, would be more than hazardous.
