Off road running for all: Wild Running™
The concept behind the Wolf Run is Wild Running™: re-creating the addictive experience of running in natural, raw terrain. The Wolf Run also presents runners with man-made obstacles to challenge their strength and ingenuity, and encourage them to help each other over, under and through these obstacles – running as a pack and taking part for the experience rather than simply to win or to beat a 10k PB! This combination of wild and man-made running challenges results in a first-class physically and mentally challenging and enjoyable run.
Getting runners off pavements and treadmills and into interesting, challenging terrain is one of the Wolf Run’s main goals. The Wolf Run has been designed to allow everyone, from beginners to experienced off-roaders to take part, with the obstacles introducing new challenges and interest to off-road running. The location on private estate land is also incredible – stunning Warwickshire countryside with an amazing mix of woodland, fields and lakeside trails.
WOLF is an acronym for Woods, Obstacles, Lakes and Fields: the four main experiences of the Wolf Run. The obstacles add variation and challenge: runners could find themselves climbing huge fallen trees, wading through waist high water, pulling each other up almost vertical mud slopes or crawling under dense vegetation.
The design of our obstacles is overseen and tested by a fitness professional with a Masters in Sports Science and years of experience in functional fitness training. This ensures that your entire body is challenged by the design of our course, providing an excellent all-body workout that will leave you fitter and stronger.
Spectators are encouraged to come along and support the Wolf Runners. They can also enjoy the afternoon post-run party with music, good local food (including a hog roast and cake stall!) and a bar which will ensure a great atmosphere in the finish area and a good day out for all.
