Richards peaks at the Moelwyns

After a lengthy spell out with a knee problem, Welsh international Ifan Richards won Ras y Moelwyn in north Wales on Saturday. Andrea Rowlands is in some great form at the moment too, and easily won the women’s race…

Weather conditions made for tricky navigation, as though the start and finish in Blaenau Ffestiniog was warm and clear the summits were draped in mist for much of the race. Writing on his Facebook page, Richards said:

Moelwyns tough as ever today, and the fog was crazy! No visibility at all! Cocked up on descent off Moelwyn Bach. But still managed to win in 01:24:26 and an awesome Ffestiniog slate trophy made by Mr Hicks (snr)…

Still looking avidly for the race results – but what we can point you towards are some great race images from photo mountain goats Al Tye and Gwynfor James. These two chaps have been heading out onto the hills and mountains of north Wales for a number of years now, bringing us some great images from the races. And last weekend’s are no exception.

About MST
