Gutsy Yelling takes European crown

Yelling is XC queen once again

In what could only be described as one of the greatest ever international XC runs by a British athlete, Hayley Yelling has won the 2009 SPAR European Cross Country Championships for the second time in 4 years.

Having only decided to come out of retirement in the last few weeks the Bucks-based school teacher underlined her UK trials win with a gun to tape victory in Dublin, with one of the biggest smiles, and biggest cheers of the day.
