Inov-8 runner Matt Gilbert ‘filled in’ at last week’s Everest Marathon for an unfortunate athlete who had to be airlifted out of the Everest region at the last minute. For those who don’t know Gil is Anna Frost’s other half, and an international mountain runner in his own right…
Gil was there to experience Nepal, and to aid Anna’s attempt on the race. As it turned out he ended up running, and finishing an amazing 8th in 4:55, with little or no prep (often the best way in terms of pressure). Apart from Anna smashing the women’s course record, I am sure that the two must have broken some kind of ‘couples record’ too?!
