Kilian's Classik 2013 gets underway...
Culminating with a big roster of races the 2013 Kilian’s Classik week is underway, with the Salomon international team taking some time out to run, relax and test ahead of the weekend…
Words from Salomon Ambassador Jono Wyatt
Kilian’s Classik for 2013 has a new concept for this annual popular event that is fast becoming a highlight for the Salomon runners. It is a chance to take a recovery break after the first part of the summer season in the northern hemisphere for team runners who have already had some big race challenges.
A week together to recharge the batteries and share experiences while running in beautiful Font Romeu, France is something special. This year Salomon have invited young runners from six countries to participate and they will pass on their experiences to their home countries when they return.
They will be completely integrated into the test days where the Salomon research and development team work on future products including shoes, clothing and bags for trail running and races and they will have a plenty of time to ask their questions about training and learning from the experieinces of the Salomon team runners.
There are some nice trail tours planned where we hope their trail running journey’s can be given a good motivational boost. With the theme of a mid season rest in mind the events were especially relaxed on day one with a thermal bath visit (to relax tired legs) and an opening introduction that included some inspiring videos (to give motivation).
More to follow when day 2 arrives with some trails to explore!
