Fell elite head for Arrochar Alps
A fresh looking Lauren Jeska and Joe Symonds
Tomorrow (July 7) sees the third race in the 2012 British Fell Running Championships and with the Arrochar Alps being the long race counter Joe Symonds could feasibly seal the 2012 title on Saturday…
The 15.5 mile route takes in a pretty monsterous 7974ft of climb, and with the final descent being described as one of the most technical he has seen by a certain top British fell runner, we are sure that there will be a huge battle played out on this one.
After wins at Coledale and Slieve Bearnagh, Symonds is in command of the men’s championship and a win at the Westerlands race could net the HBT runner his first British crown.

In the women’s champs things are far more open. Helen Fines leads the way at the moment, however after sitting out the second round Coledale winner Lauren Jeska is still in with a big chance so long as the Todmorden runner performs at Arrochar and the final short race at Moel Wnion in Wales this September.
