McCain Cross Challenge hits Cardiff
The year’s premium XC event in Wales arrives this weekend for the annual Cardiff Cross Challenge at the Blackweir Fields. The race is also round 3 of the 5 race McCain series designed to bring together the UK’s elite XC runners on a regular basis…
Frank Tickner is a man in form. After his impressive run in Edinburgh last weekend and win at Bristol in November, the Wells City runner will look to build on what is becoming one of his best seasons for a while. He was also the winner in 2011 so should be well versed with the Cardiff course.
Jonny Hay will be present too, fresh from his storming run last weekend in the 3k race at the Great Edinburgh XC.
There are a few absences in the women’s race with Gemma Steel not running, also a fair few of the UK’s top women are currently training abroad or traveling to Kenya with the UKA Endurance Camp. However, Naomi Taschimowitz goes, continuing her impressive winter to date.
