Young Brit Clayton excels in Europe
Top young British mountain runner Emma Clayton mixed it with some of the best in Europe this weekend at the first of this year’s WMRA Grand Prix races in Italy. Running the individual event Clayton finished a superb second, behind winner Lucija Krkoc…
In the men’s event there was a clear win for Italy’s Martin Dematteis, ahead of twin brother Bernard.
The weekend also a three leg relay, and was bestowed with a world-class Eritrean squad who won the event by almost two minutes from Italian club Podistica Valle Varaita.
The Arco di Trento forms round one of this season-long, 6 round WMRA series, which visits races such as the Grand Ballon (this coming weekend in France), the Mayrhofen race (Austria) and the classic Smarna Gora race in Slovenia, which rounds things off in October.
