The GB girls - 2009 World Mountain Running Champions

Except this is 2009. After Elisa Desco’s doping ban came into effect a few months ago it was pretty clear that the results of the 2009 World MR Champs would need to be revised. The Italian team now moves down to silver and the GB team moves up to gold medal position…

The news must be a little bitter-sweet for our mountain runners, but none the less history will show Sarah Tunstall as the individual bronze medalist with her team mates Mary Wilkinson, Katie Ingram and Kate Goodhead helping Great Britain to the team title.
