My family love Stuffits. Well that’s not strictly true, as they dont really know the name of the product which has revolutionised the odour of our kitchen area this last few weeks. But they love the effect…

For those of you who venture into the mud now and again and don’t clean your shoes (moi!) you might know what I mean. I have a selection of off-road shoes, and they all stink. After I decided to create a shoe rack in the kitchen the smell of fresh emulsion has been quickly replaced by the vague stench of ‘the countryside’, which now pervades our newish home. Enter Stuffits.

Stuffitts is a soft, form-fitting shape that is inserted into shoes after wearing. Combining new fabric technology, a unique foot-shaped design that maximizes point-to-point absorption, and soft cedar inserts – a pair of Stuffitts can help extend the life of your shoes significantly by protecting your shoes from moisture and odor!

Says the website, and it’s all true. The ability of these little red sponge feet to absorb the wetness and smell of my shoes is undeniable. They REALLY do work. Okay, you can use the local newspaper, but these babies are designed for purpose, whereas the local rag quickly becomes saturated.

I have also found the Stuffit really useful when traveling back from races or away-day training / runs. Stick em in your shoes before putting them in the boot and I guarantee you that they will dry your shoes quicker and leave your car smelling that little bit fresher…
