Shettleston aim for XC gold
Tsegai Tewelde - in super form
After a hugely successful last weekend which saw the east Glasgow club take the spoils at the UKA fell relay champs (and silver at the National 6-stage road relays), the boys in blue and gold dig out their spikes as they look for a repeat of their glory run in 2009
Few would bet against them taking a third straight win at the Scottish National XC relays on Saturday (23 Oct), which sees almost 450 teams lining up throughout the afternoon’s events at Cumbernauld.
Once again their main opposition will come from the Central AC men’s squad, who count the 2010 Scottish National XC champ Alistair Hay in their number.
Central AC’s women will be looking to keep hold of the title they have won for the past two years but the East District Championships saw Dundee Hawkhill emerge as a force to be reckoned with, taking the title that Central had won for seven successive years.
