Walsh trail shoes arrive

Fell shoe originators Walsh have recognised that time stands still for no man (or woman). The ultra-pure sport of fell running will never leave their hearts, however in a nod towards other off-road running activities that are emerging the Bolton pioneers have released a range of trail shoes…

This aspect of mountain running sport is friendly towards those who want to run the in the less aggressive and wild environments of our land, generally on marked, well worn tracks and trails. Of course, unlike in the days when Norman Walsh blazed a trail (or fell!) with his shoe making, Walsh will be playing catch-up with the likes of inov-8 who have an extensive range of shoes that cover every ‘vertical’ discipline. So their foray into the trail world will be watched with interest.

The range kicks-off with three shoes – a lightweight ‘racer’ called the Spirit Lite, a trainer much in the mold of the lite called the Spirit Peak, and finally a more durable “multi-activity sports” shoe called the Spirit React.

The shoes have seen little in the way of previews to date, and as yet MST hasn’t seen the product. The shoes hit the stores in just over a week and the proof will be in the pudding – or should that be Hot Pot?!
