Ministers encourage us 'outdoors' over Christmas
Government officials are encouraging us to get off our backsides and get out there this Yuletide – whatever the weather. The Grough reports that walkers are being egged on to burn off the eggnog and get some fresh air…
The report is aimed at walkers in essence, however it could be equally leveled at other outdoor activities (though many runners wont an excuse to get out there over the Christmas period!).
Public health minister Gillian Merron states: “Whatever the weather, a traditional festive walk is a great way for families and friends to avoid that sluggish feeling and have a more active Christmas.
“Being more physically active can make a real difference to your health; taking that extra walk is something we can all enjoy as a family.”
