A very Clever Coat

Sure aren’t all running jackets all the same these days? Well, it’s time to think again, because Salomon has just decided to prove otherwise. Enter on stage the fabulously named, Fast Wing Hoodie Jacket II.

At a microcosmic 120 grams, it’s so light it practically floats off you as you flake down the trails. With its Climawind technology, it acts as a great barrier against those nasty winds. And though it’s not waterproof, it definitely keeps the odd drip or two off you in case of a sudden shower.
So what’s new about that? Sure aren’t all windproof jackets lightweight? Aren’t they designed to give you that extra layer of element protection?

True, but there’s more…First off there’s the fold away hood with a snap fast holder. Now you see it…

And now you don’t!

And with hoods, aren’t there always those annoying weighted end bits that bob in your face as you jog up and down?

The Fast Wing Hoodie has itty-bitty holes to poke these ends into, so you can kiss those eye-poking moments forever goodbye.

For those who need a little bit of armpit ventilation, Salomon has dispensed with the need for fiddly zips and new fangled fabrics. Instead, they’ve just cut a big hole… simple.

To help you get the jacket on, and to help it stay on in windy moments, they’ve placed some handy little loops at the end of the arms. Alternatively, on extra cold days, you could even use them to tie your mittens on nice and tight.

And when you’re finally done with the jacket, you can stuff it all up into the breast pocket, and hold it to the palm of your hand.

Now is that one clever coat or wha?
