Jez fells the Fellsman
Competitors cross Kingsdale Beck
We missed this one from last weekend’s news – sorry! The Fellsman is a 60 mile high level traverse over very hard rugged moorland, climbing over 11,000 feet in its path from Ingleton to Threshfield in the Yorkshire Dales.
The intial miles of the event takes in much of the course of the Three Peaks, with ascents up Ingleborough and Whernside, with Fellsman legend Mark Hartell not competing the race was there for the taking for ultra-star Jez Bragg. He didn’t disappoint as he raced to a win by over 90 minutes. Fell legend and international marathoner Sarah Rowell comfortably won the women’s race.

Jez’s blog a few days after the event gives insight into just what the guys at the sharp end experience, and his openness on such subjects a his state of mind make for captivating reading.
A fantastic race review can be found at the Grough site, with all of the results and event info over at the Fellsman site.
