It's not all mud, sweat and tears
Anna Frost is a bit of one-off. The Kiwi school teacher come super international mountain runner, lives life to the full, and doesn’t take things too seriously. As this recent visit to a top London photo studio also shows, Frosty is quite the glamour girl…
Yep, Anna is a great example of one of those rare athletes that have talent, looks and brains. (Some of us barely chalk-up one of the above!) Did we mention that she isn’t a bad mountain runner too? In 2008 alone her major achievements included World Mountain Running Grand Prix series winner, 10th in the world champs, 1st female team Salomon MXR, Mt Blanc cross winner. 2009 will be another phrenetic year of racing and traveling for Anna, culminating in the Everest Marathon in December.
A knee injury has beset the New Zealander in the early part of this year, however some steady training pushing through the pain ensured that her schedule and planning was not to be swayed. A trip to the Salomon Advance Week, a great win at the Ventoux mountain race, some exciting MTB, Orienteering and fell racing at iRoc and a recent weekend of intensive training in Snowdonia has left her fighting fit ahead of a phrenetic year of racing and traveling for the, culminating in the Everest Marathon in December.
Anna is aiming to defend her GP crown with the first race at Grand Ballon on the 21st of May. Next up is the Andorra Sky Race, followed by some touring of the Pyrenees, training with the SSOT team in the Dolomites follows in July, and then a plethora of Grand Prix events across Europe follow before the date with Everest to cap off her year. Phew!
