The Ben Nevis stampede

2008 winner of the Ben Nevis race Augusti Roc returns to Scotland attempting a repeat win this weekend (5 Sept) looking to add to his 2009 Skyrunner® World Series points tally. Hoping to get in his way will be Ben multiple winner Rob Jebb amongst others…

2008 winner Augusti Roc

At 1,344 metres (4406ft) the Ben Nevis race the UK’s only Skyrunning event, and occupies a place in fell running legend, with course records that look unlikely to be approached anytime soon! (It’s those Stuarts (Howarths) again…)

The women’s race will see a different winner from last year’s event, as 2008 winner Angela Mudge (although on the BN start list) will be in Germany at the TransAlp race. Outstanding favourites will be Emanuela Brizio from Italy and Stephanie Jimenez from Andorra, who currently occupy first and second respectively in the World Series points table.
