Mt. Washington Road 'mountain' Race!
It’s a road race, but not the traditional type. It’s a mountain race, yet it climbs on tarmac up to nearly 6300ft. One thing is for sure, you need the mountain runners engine to win this great American race which has Anna Pichrtova in its past-winner roll call.
The Czech legend could not make this Saturday’s Mount Washington road race – and add to her 6 titles – however she would have had her work cut out as Pichrtova’s best on Mt. Washington is less than 30 seconds better than 2009 winner Brandy Erholtz’s time of 1:10:53 for the 7.6 mile race.
The men’s race was won by Rickey Gates as the Boulder man went under the hour, only the 2nd American to do so on this grueling course.

Gates and Erholtz are happy chappies!
