Sexy Salomon Summer Shirts
The rather splendid Salomon Moto Tech Tee for women
Last Sunday was a gloriously sunny day. For the first time this year I went running in a t-shirt! So off I went up Lugnacoille, the highest mountain in the Wicklow Mountains, sporting my new Salomon Moto Tech tee.
I wasn’t too sure if the wind chill at 925 metres was going to ruin my day and force me to wear long-sleeves. That’s because, at first glance, I doubted the Tee could face up to such a mountainous challenge. First off, the T-Shirt is wafer light and ultra-thin to the touch:Actilite Smart Skin it said on the label. Granted lightness is a huge bonus, as every extra gram is just more weight to carry on the run. But had Salomon gone mad and left a shirt too weightless to be of any use outside of warm weather countries (of which Ireland is definitely not one).
I slipped the tee on and was immediately impressed at how well it hugged my body. And despite its minimalist feel, it actually kept me warm. That coupled with a neat little zip at the neck allowed just the right amount of temperature regulation: zipped up for the exposed mountains and zipped open for the sheltered forests down below.
Racing on Lugnacoille
A sign of a really good shirt is that you forget it’s even there: it doesn’t itch or irritate or flap about. I spent three hours running up and down Lugnacoille and all I remember are the views, and the sun, and the mountain air. So the Salomon Moto Tech tee definitely passed my technical test.
But does the tee pass the most important test of all? Does it make me look good when I run? Salomon have worked out that most mountain running girls are small. In fact, really small. A lot of other manufacturers haven’t worked this out and still make their XS sizes for quite well endowed women.
Finally, Salomon have rescued us from this folly, and are now making well fitted shirts for well fit girls. And they are beautifully figure hugging, so perfect for showing off your hard-earned slimmed-down features. And with the stylish range of colours that the T-Shirts come in, you’d be tempted to wear them to the gym, park and club as opposed to up the mountains where no one’s around to even see them.
I personally don’t buy a lot of Salomon stuff. If I do see it in-store, I often don’t believe such minimalist trendy gear would work. However this and other recent reviews have made me realise that Salomon have really done their homework of recent and are now producing top quality gear. My Sunday saunter up Lugnacoille has definitely proved me wrong, and I hope to be bringing my tee on more mountainous adventures over the warm sunny summer months that I just know are right around the corner.
