"I have a dream"
Mud, Sweat and Tears was dreamt up some time ago. I had returned to the sport of running (competitively) after around a 15 year layoff due to injury.
Sure, running has moved on a lot since 1993, but I could’nt find what it was looking for when it came to off road running websites, and the written press for that matter.
When it comes to mountain running there are some great resources out there in the form of the new World Mountain Running Association site, UK Fell Runners Association, and a plethora of international sites. Cross country is comprehensively covered throughout the winter months by Athletics Weekly magazine online and the IAAF, and trail/multi terrain running (perhaps the biggest growth sector in running right now) has some good outlets in trailrunning.co.uk and others – but when it comes to a cohesive site that offers news, opinion, product reviews, interviews and lively comment to get the juices flowing, I just had to exorcise my frustrations. So, I am on a ride…
