The National 'charge'
In England and Scotland that is. This weekend will see a sea of XC runners from across the age groups tackle parkland courses in Sunderland and Falkirk.
The recent dry spell will probably make for perfect going if the frost doesn’t bite too hard, and English reigning champs Keith Gerrard and Gemma Steel with look to defend their titles.

This Saturday sees the 126th senior men’s race – a statistic that illustrates the event’s tremendous history, as English Cross Country Association secretary Ian Byett agrees: “The National is truly one of the greatest mass participation national championships in the world,” he said.
Up in Calendar Park in Falkirk, Scotland’s finest will be out in force, and it will be great to see British Fell Champ and GB internationals Murray Strain and Robbie Simpson showing the way for the UK’s fell and hill runners!
