XC at the Winter Olympics?

I am not sure that we have an opinion either way in this subject, which has been raised a fair few times in the past. However, watching the Euro Cross at the weekend left me with the feeling that the racing on snow was pretty exciting…

Firstly, let it be said that XC racing in snowy conditions is nothing new and many a frozen course throughout the UK and Europe has graced local racing and major XC championships alike over the last few decades. But imagine the scenario:

    I can think of no practical reason why such xc races as you describe could not be held over the langlaufstrecke (cross country skiing course) after the final of the ski event. This would entail hardly any extra expense or extra work .

    By the way Matt I enjoyed the recent piece featuring yourself and a German runner in Snowdonia in the recent edition of the German magazine Trail. The photos were amazing!
