Kilian triumphs at Marathon du Mont Blanc
In a poignant return to the Mont Blanc massif today, Kilian Jornet put on a great display of trail running to take the 42km Marathon du Mont Blanc. The Catalan was followed by Salomon team mates Tofol Castener and Greg Vollet, with Tom Owens in 5th.
After a steady start Kilian pulled away from Castener to win by aroun seven minutes in 3:38:24 by the end of the race – which takes in some 2511m of vertical gain. Maude Mathys won the women’s race comfortably in 4:28:17.
