Zegama: It's an education

This event has something, something you can’t quite put your finger on. The Zegama race has a power and emotion which can be likened to those epic Tour de France mountain stages, an event that takes you to higher emotional plane…

The latest Salomon Running TV Season 2 Episode 3 is produced by those visual magicians the African Attachment and as we have come to expect from these guys takes a fresh view of the event, and the characters involved.

This year’s race was even more epic, given the fact the the weather was gruesome and top US trail and mountain men and women made it to the start line. As Kilian says, “Zegama, it’s…Zegama!” and Emelie Forsberg sums up her first trip to the mountain classic with the simple words “it’s a good experience”.

Great film, great event. so many races in Spain have this sort of support and enthusiasm. Zegama is a classic but I think many events on the mountain running scene out here have similar enthusiastic support. My Al Andalus Ultimate Trail stage race next month starts and finishes in villages and we attract good and enthusiastic crowds. Time a few more UK fell runners made a few visits to race out here, I am sure they would enjoy the experience.

i’ll second that Paul. I live in the north and there are so many great races and such variety of terrain, climatic conditions etc… Love it when the top spanish mountain runners go head to head with UK fell runners.
