Weekend racing...
Outside of the Tour of Pendle there was a fair bit of racing on the hills and fells this weekend. The excellent Penmaenmawr Fell Race went off in good mountain running conditions on Saturday, with a win for Adam Peers…

This was the second time that the Liverpool Harrier has taken this tough race in the hills above the North Wales coastal town, and his time of 1.12.32 was very useful. Recent Wadsworth Half Trog winner Sarah Ridgway continued her excellent form in 2011, winning the women’s race comfortably and finishing 11th overall (1.22.17).

Connor Carson narrowly beat Mercia duo Paul Jones and Ian Grindley at the Wrekin Wrecker, with Anna Bartlett winning the women’s race. Images by Al Tye, once again.

At the Harriers vs Cyclists race, the race was once again won by a cyclist, with Craven Energy Tri rider Ian Taylor winning the race and breaking the course record to boot. Ilkley’s Tom Adams put in a good show for third, a couple of minutes down on Taylor. Victoria Wilkinson also put in one of the performances of the weekend with a new course record in the women’s race.
