Palmer continues good form at Helvellyn
After his strong run at the Brecon 40 last week, Mynydd Du’s Mark Palmer won the ‘new’ Helvellyn and The Dodds race in Cumbria on Sunday. Replacing the Helvellyn fell race (to now also take in The Dodds) the event is now a tough 15 miler with 4400ft of climbing…
Palmer took the win, finishing around a minute ahead of Borrowdale’s Morgan Donnelly. The duo were almost 5 minutes up on third-placed Philip Sanderson. Over 100 finished the race, with the FRA forum comments talking effusively about the race, which will no doubt become a firm favourite on the calendar.
Kewsick’s Catherine Evans won the women’s race in 3:02:36, ahead of Northumberland Fell Runners Karen Robertson and Steph Scott.
