We sort of missed this one, but have been righted by those good eggs over at the FRA forum. On Sunday a (possible) female fell star in the making took an amazing 3rd place overall at the tough 13 mile Windgather...

Emma Wilson is unattached, and this was her first proper fell race. She only entered because she couldn’t get into the Sheffield 1/2 marathon. He time of 1.40.34 was good enough for 3rd overall and a full 15 minutes (!!) inside the course record – held by Jackie Lee. Impressed yet? We certainly are, as we suspect will be a few fell clubs in the Buxton area and beyond.

Dark Peak’s Dave Taylor won the race, from Stuart Bond, with Wilson completing the 1,2,3. Keep em peeled for more on this story of a ‘duck to water’, as we try to get to the bottom of where Wilson has come from and where she may be going!
