The 'new' NB MT101 - Byron writes far...

Posted in Dishing the Dirt by Matt Ward on Fri 08 Oct '10

You have to hand it to man Byron Powell. I thought MST was pretty in-depth when it came to pulling a shoe apart and putting it back together again, but his fresh post on the new MT101 trail shoe from New Balance takes things to another level…

Byron knows his kit. He is also versed in writing to an audience that would be able to see through any “hyperbole”, as he puts it. His latest late-night foray in the world of shoe reviews tells us that he like these new NB’s – so much so that he extols them as his “my favorite new shoe of the year”.

New Balance are an interesting bunch. At the forefront of elite running for probably three decades now, they were always one of those brands that seemed to be on the best and most interesting runners in the hazy days of 80’s marathon running (Dick Beardsley, Hugh Jones), and have since gravitated towards interesting trail runners like Anton Krupicka and the forthcoming Minimus shoe – and for those who don’t know, we are told that almost 80% of European product is made here in the UK…

Now if we could only get hold of the right bod up at New Balance we might even be able to give you a ‘UK perspective’ on the 101’s too!

Will the MT101’s be available in the UK? Does anyone know?

  2. Bryon Powell Oct 8, 10:06 PM

Rob, I don’t know if the MT101s will be generally available in the UK, but my review of the MT101 includes iRunFar giving away 5 pairs of NB MT101s and anyone, anywhere can win… including folks in the UK.
