Trans Alp Day 4: Snow time!

With today’s leg of the 2010 Trans Alpine Run hitting over 2600 metres it had many of the runners catching their breath and reaching for the cold weather gear. Tom Owens and Andy Symonds took the snow in their stride for another stage win…

There seems to be a status quo in the overall standings as teams have found their pace, and the teams leading each category continued to extend their advantages.

The Neukirchen – Prettau im Ahrntal stage took in 44 kms and the highest point of the 2010 Trans Alp, the 2667-meter high Birnlücke, so the snowy conditions should have come as no surprise really. Andy’s team blog tells of the duo simply zipping up their tops whilst many others donned full mountain gear- hardcore!

Results online here with yet another day of breathtaking shots here and here. Bravo Gripmaster!
