Bank holiday racing at Y Cnicht, Achnamara Forest, the Ochil 2000s, the Pendleton Fell Race and the famous Ras Beca ‘sprint’. The weather was certainly looking up and numbers at all events were certainly healthy, here’s hoping for an Indian summer hey!

Ochil 2000s record falls to Chepelin
Conditions for the Ochil 2000’s were good except for the wind, everyone could see where they were going making navigation easier. The race was won by Oleg Chepelin (Shettleston Harriers) in an impressive 2:46:36, more than a minute faster than Colin Donnelly’s 2008 record.
Davies takes the ‘Welsh Matterhorn’ Cnicht race
Andrew Davies was first to the summit but was passed on the rough descent by Sam Smith. However, when the terrain improved Andrew was able to catch and pass Sam to win in a time of 36 minutes and 48 seconds.

A loaded field at the legendary 32nd Ras Beca in Y Crymych, Pebrokeshire. The race attracted some seasoned internationals from south Wales and over the border, including past National XC champ and British international Frank Tickner…
